Gloucester's Sherry Rollins earns 2012 Classroom Teacher Award
Sherry Rollins, a science teach at Peasley Middle School in Gloucester, has earned the 2012 Classroom Teacher Award from the Mid-Atlantic Education Association.
According to a release from the association, Rollins was granted the award as a result of her unique classroom operations including, growing oysters, creating video and photography projects and exploring the Bay on marine science field trips. She also invested her personal time after school and on weekends to take students on boat and canoe trips.
The Gloucester resident received the honor Oct. 13.
