Phillips appointed to Rappahannock Community College Board
The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors recently appointed Dr. James C. Phillips of Gloucester County to serve as a representative to the Rappahannock Community College Board.
According to a press release, Phillips will serve a four-year term and will be responsible for listening to Gloucester citizens and businesses ideas, concerns and comments about their local community college.
Phillips has assisted nontraditional students with educational opportunities through working with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, in addition to establishing the TeleTechNet program at Old Dominion University, which enables students from anywhere in Virginia to earn a four-year degree from the school without being physically present on campus.
"I got my love and dedication to education from my mother, who taught in Gloucester Public Schools for many years," Phillips said in the release.
For more information, contact Phillips at 804-642-4614 or jc194260@verizon.net.
