James C. Phillips to serve on college board
The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors has appointed James C. Phillips to serve of the Rappahannock Community College Board.
Phillips, a resident of Gloucester Point, will serve on the board for a four-year term. He was chosen because of his role in helping to expand the educational opportunities of nontraditional students.
With the help of his staff at the Department of Information Technology and Old Dominion University, Phillips has helped thousands more students continue their education. While at Old Dominion, Phillips helped to create Teletechnet. The program allows students from anywhere in the state to earn a four-year degree from Old Dominion without needing to be on campus.
As a member of the board, Phillips would like to hear the concerns and comments of the community on the community college.
To contact Phillips, email jc194260@verizon.net or call 757-642-4614.
