Gami Gala fundraiser deemed a success
Five local businesses partnered up to make Gloucester Art on Main's Sept. 8 fundraiser a success.
The event, the Gami Gala, began with a performance from the Jae Sinnett Trio while gala attendees sampled appetizers and wine. The event also included a dinner and auction featuring jewelry, paintings and fine craft items from around the world. More than 50 guests attended the event.
Sponsors from Gloucester's business community were Chesapeake Bank, Olivia's, Colonial Virginia Bank, Creative Art and Design, North River Inn and Grand Rental Station. Artists who also supported the event by donating artwork for a silent auction were Andy Pitts, Fran Ward, Jane Dixon, Jeff Helm, Kathleen Noffsinger, Kathy Klein, Mary Kathryn Dunston and more. Silent auction items can still be bid upon at the gallery.
Another gala fundraising event is in the works for next spring, with details to be announced later on the gallery's website, gloucesterarts.org.
Gloucester Arts on Main is at 6580 Main St., Gloucester. Hours for the gallery are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Activities at the gallery are supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
