Gloucester arts student scholarship calendars now available
The 2013 Gloucester arts student scholarship calendars are now available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting scholarship funds for Gloucester County art students.
The 2013 Gloucester arts student scholarship calendars, sponsored by the Phoenix Arts Group, are now available.
Young Gloucester County artists worked together to illustrate the cover and each month of the calendar. This year's artists include Abington Elementary students Caitlyn Shelton, Cheneene Watson and Danica McFarland, and art teacher Jeff Helm; Ware Academy students Colleen Rae, Mark Watson, Olivia Gwyn, Rachel Steward, Vivian Peebles, Khatiana Perez and William Revere, and art teacher Linda Brent art teacher; Bototourt Elementary students Victoria Palaimo and Elizabeth Gill, and art teacher Ellen Walter; and Peasley Elementary student Taylor Green and art teacher Aimee Layton.
The calendar also includes 24 additional illustrations submitted to the annual Gloucester County Art Student Show, sponsored every February by the Phoenix Art Group.
The Phoenix Art Group is a nonprofit corporation that promotes young artists in Gloucester County in public, private and home school systems. The calendar is available for a donation of $15 or more to the Phoenix Art Group. Proceeds generated from calendar sales and direct donations are used toward providing scholarship assistance to a qualified senior from Gloucester County who wishes to study art in college.
The 2013 Gloucester County art student scholarship calendars can be purchased at Twice Told Tales Book Store, 6658 Main St.; Gloucester Arts on Main, 6580 B Main St.; and the Colonial Virginia Bank, 6720 Sutton Road, all in Gloucester.
